Connecticut private chef jobs
Tiny Spoon Chef is hiring full-time, W-2 personal chefs to cook in client homes across Westport, Norwalk, Greenwich, Stamford, and parts of White Plains. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., with evenings and weekends free. You keep the craft and the client relationships. We handle matching, scheduling, billing, and support.
You cook in real client kitchens, with a team behind the business side. Then Friday comes and the weekend is yours: a Saturday at Compo Beach, dinner where you are on the guest list, or simply plans that do not depend on someone else’s reservation book.
Independent vs. Tiny Spoon for Connecticut chefs
Independent chefs feel the growing pains first: months of thin weeks before a full book, no coverage when they need time off, one slow season with no floor underneath them.

Frequently asked questions
W-2, no asterisks. Independent rates can look tempting until self-employment tax comes due, because you’re covering both sides of it yourself. At Tiny Spoon, taxes are handled through payroll and we cover the employer share. That is money you keep in your paycheck instead of setting aside for tax season.
Yes. We only build full-time rosters, no part-time patchwork.
Monday through Friday, 8am to 6pm. Evenings and weekends are yours. Want extra weekend work anyway? It's on the table, but never required.
Nope. We find them, vet them, and match them to your style. You just show up and cook.
You'll need reliable transportation, since getting to your clients is part of the job. The clock starts the moment you walk in the door to check the pantry, before you've even started shopping.
8 to 9 households, the same roster size every Tiny Spoon chef gets, wherever they cook.
Yes, and it's a real list, not just health insurance and a pat on the back:
- Retirement plan, 401k and 401k matching
- Health, dental and vision insurance
- Short and long term disability
- Life insurance
- Accident and critical illness insurance
- Flexible Spending Account (FSA)
- Dependent Care Account (DCA)
- Paid time off
- Profit sharing
At least two years of culinary experience, so you're walking in ready, not learning on the job.
Yes. Connecticut has a state income tax, so withholding may apply alongside federal withholding. If you’re hired, the payroll team can explain the forms and setup.
We reply within two business days and match you to the Connecticut roster.
